    With the beginning of the new school year on Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, Wayne Academy has announced its school supplies requirements and requests. The lists below are in PDF format and are broken down by grade levels as well as foreign language courses so that families do not have to print the entire listing. Please feel free to share this information with or print it for other WA families and friends.

  • 2019-2020 CALENDAR OF EVENTS

    Wayne Academy has released its general activities calendar for the 2019-2020 academic year. The printable calendar is in PDF format. The calendar is for planning purposes, and some events could change throughout the school year due to unforeseen circumstances. Please check our website, our Facebook page and be attentive to one-call telephone announcements for changes that could occur.


    Wayne Academy's faculty and staff will report for duty on Thursday, Aug. 8 and Friday, Aug. 9 for start-of-the-school-year Work Days. The Work Day will include meetings with administrators and department heads as well as discussion of any new policies and procedures for the new school year.

    Wayne Academy students will report for the first day of the 2019-2020 academic year on Monday, Aug. 12, 2019. This will also be a 60 percent academic day -- meaning elementary students will be dismissed at noon and middle and high school students will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m. Parents and guardians should be prepared to pick-up their child earlier than normal.

    Wayne Academy's Lady Jaguars softball teams will take to the field for the first time for the 2019-2020 season and will be led by Coaches Richie Andersen and Brett Dean. The softball team will travel to Mendenhall to play in the Simpson Academy Tournament with times to be announced on Saturday, July 27. The JV and varsity teams then travel to Newton County Academy for games at 4 and 5:30 p.m., on Tuesday, July 30. The teams' home opener will be held Thursday, Aug. 1 with JV and varsity games against Sylva-Bay Academy at 5 and 6:30 p.m.

    Wayne Academy's junior varsity football program has announced its 2019 season slate of games, according to Athletic Director Todd Mangum. On Thursday, Aug. 29, WA will host Sylva-Bay Academy and will face Newton Academy at home on Thursday, Sept. 12. The JV Jags will travel to Presbyterian Christian School on Thursday, Sept. 19, to Sylva-Bay on Thursday, Sept. 26 and to Columbia Academy on Thursday, Oct. 3. The team will be at home to face Bowling Green School on Thursday, Oct. 10. Kickoff times will be announced soon.
