Who We Are

  • Originally chartered in 1970, Wayne Academy is nearing a half century of serving the educational needs of young people in Kindergarten-5 through 12th grades, and our Cooper-Wood Day Care Center provides daily care, learning and activities for 3- and 4-year-old children.

The quality of a well-rounded education and comprehensive course of study for every child is our obligation, and our school is accredited by the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Accreditation Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS-CASI). This accreditation ensures our school works consistently to have some of the educational highest standards not only in Mississippi, but also the entire nation.

Wayne Academy's primary mission is to provide a challenging and stimulating curriculum for the college-bound student in a positive school environment and in a Christian atmosphere, thereby maximizing the mental, social, physical, emotional and spiritual development of each student.

The success of any school is determined by the success of its students. If students and teachers avail themselves of their educational opportunities and fulfill their obligations to themselves, the school and the community in a social, economic and spiritual way, then the school will have fulfilled its purposes.
